Regione Lombardia

Lombardy is Italy’s leading economic region and one of Europe’s strongest regional economies, representing a key gateway for international investors looking to access the Italian and European markets.

Lombardy hosts over 900,000 companies and the highest share of foreign multinationals in Italy – nearly half of the national total. The region attracts over 40% of Italy’s foreign direct investment and accounts for around one quarter of the country’s innovative start-ups, confirming its role as a national hub for innovation, advanced manufacturing and services.

At MIPIM 2026, Regione Lombardia presents Invest in Lombardy (www.investinlombardy.com), an integrated investment promotion platform enabling international investors and developers to identify and explore concrete investment opportunities across key sectors.

This edition also marks the launch of the ZLS project (Strategic Logistics Zone), a strategic initiative to enhance Lombardy’s competitiveness in logistics, manufacturing and international trade through simplified procedures, improved infrastructure integration and targeted incentives, strengthening the region’s position as a leading European investment destination.
